A native of Chicago, Illinois, Nathan Chester was born in 1996. His parents are Robyn Chester and Mr. Chester. Born in Chicago, Nathan grew up in Florida. Nathan was mostly raised by his single mother starting when he was 3 years old. He didn’t see much of his father as he grew up,” his bio states. Although Nathan’s father was sporadically present and he met his half-siblings later in life, he has worked hard to maintain family connections.
He gives credit to his brother Michael for sparking his interest in guitar and singing. Nathan’s dedication to family remains strong despite these challenges. Nathan Chester auditioned for the second episode of The Voice Season 25. He kicked off the season with a powerful cover of Al Green’s “Take Me to the River,” earning Chair Turns from John Legend and Dan + Shay, and joining Team Legend. He won his Battle against Bryan Olesen with a duet of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”
During the Playoffs, Chester impressed with a split while performing “Oh! Darling” by The Beatles, earning high praise from Legend. In the Live Shows, he has sung “(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher” by Jackie Wilson, “Try a Little Tenderness” by Otis Redding, and a three-way cover of “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure.
