Karen Waldrup is a country musician from Mandeville, Louisiana who made it to The Voice Season 24 grand finale. She blends classic sounds with modern innovation. She joined Team Dan + Shay on The Voice after impressing them with Jo Dee Messina’s “Bye Bye” during the Blind Auditions.

Since then, she has survived the Battles, Knockouts, Playoffs, and Live Shows, leading her to the two-part season finale. It would be a tough fight amongst the top five contestants of this season such as Asher Havon, Bryan Olesen, Nathan Chester, and Josh Sanders. Karen Waldrup was born on 5th February 1986 in Mandeville, Louisiana. Her parents are Scott Waldrup and Madelyn Bowler Waldrup. Karen cherished the memories of her childhood with three siblings. Karen spent her entire youth there. She’s been passionate about music and singing since she was young.

At 16, she started playing guitar and delved deeper into music. Karen earned an orchestra choir scholarship to the University of Southern Mississippi. In college, she started performing at bars, football games, and parties. Her musical cover videos have gained nearly half a billion views and over a million followers.

Karen Waldrup has performed her music in over 15 countries and across America. She blends classic country with modern innovation. Her new album, Kendall County Road, was produced by Grammy winners Paul Worley and Biff Watson.

It features a song co-written with WWII D-Day veteran Jim Martin, a duet with Wendy Moten on “Nothing Is Impossible,” and the title track, “Kendall County Road,” which reflects on missing home and family. The Voice Season 25 

During The Voice, Karen Waldrup faced Ryan Argast in the Battles, singing Dan + Shay’s “Save Me the Trouble.” In the Knockouts, she performed Trisha Yearwood’s “Georgia Rain.” Both performances received high praise from the Coaches, pushing her through the rounds.

“Karen, you just have one of the most incredible voices,” said Dan Smyers after her Knockout performance. “A lot of people need an engineer in the studio, twisting knobs to make a voice push and pull like that. That’s an incredible ability that not everybody has.”

Reba McEntire wanted Karen during the Blinds but got blocked by Dan + Shay. John Legend and Chance the Rapper later wished they had turned for her during the Blinds. Both wondered what they “were smoking.”
