Jossara Jinaro Biography

Jossara Jinaro was an actress, a TV personality, a social personality, a charity maker, and an artist. She was a member of the Screen Actor’s Guild and served on the EEOC and Latino subcommittee. According to the statement given by her husband on the Facebook page, she was not only an actress and TV artist but a mother and friend too. Jossara Jinaro’s husband revealed the news of her death, committing that she died on 27th April 2022, as she was confronting cancer and was being surrounded by the family while taking her last breath.

Early Life

Jossara Jinaro was given the honor by Latin media and was honored as the strong, smart, and sexy ultimate woman. She was brought up in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and after her mother married for the second time to a Colombian diplomat, the family moved to Columbia. Since childhood, Jossara was very much fascinated by films and TV shows. One of her favorites was “Gilda” because she was highly admired by the personality Rita Hayworth as the nightclub dancing dame. Jossara was brought into the field of dancing after she got attracted to samba and salsa. Therefore, she began dancing at the age of 5 and by the time she reached the age of 8 years, she started performing on the stage taking over her role in the stage show.

Jossara’s step-father was held hostage by the guerrilla and soon after he was released, the family moved to the United States for safety. By the age of infancy, Jossara was not known to the English language but she came to learn the language by the age of 15. Later, she made the decision to leave home at the age of 16 so that she could pursue her dream of becoming an artist. She got her first professional assignment which was a singing and dancing gig at the theme park Old Indiana Fun Park. She soon landed herself committed to BFA musical theater program.

Jossara Jinaro Career

Soon, Jossara Jinaro started being recognized as an emerging actress. She got connected with an agent in Chicago who helped her get professional roles in the films and TV shows. Jossara left Chicago and appeared to join the  American Conservatory Theatre, where she got recognized by an agent and was asked to come to Los Angeles. Once she came to Los Angeles, she was soon taken up by Columbia Tri-Star to play the beautiful and funny Virginia Bustos and appear in the sitcom Viva Vegas. Since then, she fought to get many roles and was lucky enough to play, remain strong, and had many roles for Latinas. She also worked for Judging Amy as the smart and activist daughter of Cheech Marin in the drama series.

She was attracted by many of the artists in the entertainment industry including an Emmy-Award-winning director and producer Christopher Chulack, who helped her land a role in one of his ER. One of her roles in the drama series called “Passions”, where she performed the character Rae, got nominated for the 2006 GLAAD award. She made her entry to film festivals because of her film Desert Road Kill which helped her gain the best-supporting Actress award. Despite this, she worked in many other films including Havoc, Devil’s Rejects, TenTricks, Fly Boys, World Trade Center, and Go For It! Besides, she also tried her hands at the production of films.

Personal Life

She was appointed as an executive director for Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) and has worked for many non-profit organizations including the Children’s Institute and SSG. According to the Facebook page and the writings of her husband Matt Bogado, Jossara Jinaro died after battling cancer on 27th April 2022. She was at home at the time she died and was surrounded by the family. Her husband described her as a great artist, wife, mother, and friend. Jossara Jinaro was living with her family during her last days while battling cancer. The family included her husband Matt and two children Liam and Emrys.
