John has celebrated fifty years of working for music with The Malibooz and also shares the celebration with his companion, Walter Egan. After the addition of lead singer, Annie McLoone the band became known as Sageworth.

By the time, John Zambetti completed his medical education, he moved to California in 1976 and joined Walter Egan. The band called The Walter Egan Band [that was run by Egan alone or without any presence of John] got a contract to record five albums and then the contract was later received by MCA. The first two albums were named, “Fundamental Roll” and “Not Shy.”
On the other hand, John started his solo work and named his band The Johnny Z Band, which was further selected as one of the top bands in 1980 among the list top 10 bands by Music Connection Magazine. The band became a well-known band in L.A. and the whole club circuit and also worked with other bands like The Police and The Motels.
In 2002, a CD was released called Beach Access featuring the songs sung by Walter and John. the album or the CD reached the five categories in the semi-finals of the 2003 Grammy Awards including the category of “Best Album Packaging,” where the company used an innovative CD case.
