Jill Biden became the first lady of the USA after her husband, Joe Biden took the charge as President of the United States of America. She is also a Stepmom to Beau Biden and Hunter Biden. She also has a master’s degree from West Chester University and Villanova University along with that she has also earned a doctoral degree from the University of Delaware. Currently, she is a teacher, does social work, and supports her husband in his campaign.

Early Life

Jill Biden was born on 5th June 1951 in Hammonton, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Donald C. Jacobs and Bonny Jean Jacobs.  Her childhood days were mostly spent in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. She also has four younger sisters. In the beginning, she was very much into the fashion industry and was studying at her junior college in Pennsylvania. She later found out that it was not very much interesting so she left school. She graduated in 1969 and attended the University of Delaware where she had English as her major. A year off was taken just so that she can make money and got into modeling for a local agency. Joe Biden saw her picture in an advertisement and sorted her life out.

Jill didn’t stop working after getting married to Joe Biden, she wanted to teach. So, she worked in a Psychiatric Hospital for five years where she taught English to adolescents with emotional disabilities. She further enrolled herself at various Universities to study. Since 2009 she has been an English professor at Northern Virginia Community. In 2010 she hosted the White House Summit for the first time about Community college with President Barack Obama.

Beau Biden, Jill’s stepson got involved with a not-for-profit organization that focuses on families of military deployment. She joined hands with Michelle Obama and launched other forces aiming at educational/ employment and health resources provided to military personal families. She was also a co-founder of the Book Buddies Program as she has written a book about Don’t Forget, God, Bless our troops in 2012. Recently in 2020, she wrote a book on her husband called “Joey: The Story of Joe Biden”.

Awards & Philanthropy

She has been awarded the Josiah Marvel cup at the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce on 8th January 2018. She works as an Advocate for military families and also works for welfare for women’s and girls’ rights. On a tour to Asia, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam she focused on Women’s education opportunities, and later in Malawi, she served as a US representative and provided them with food aid.
