An Alaska Airlines plane had to have an emergency landing after taking off the plane because one part of the aeroplane blew off. When National Transportation Safety Board Chair Jennifer Homendy was called for the questionnaire to answer the ongoing investigation, she said no data was available on the cockpit voice recorder as it was not retrieved within two hours.
When the recording restarts, the previous data vanishes. She also explains that planes made after 2021 required cockpit voice recorders to log two hours of data. When the team reached the connectivity of the aircraft, that time there was already a two-hour time distance, so nothing was retrieved. The cockpit voice recorders and the plane’s data recorder have been sent to the labs, but no recorded material has been found.
