Jennie Gow is an English journalist and presenter who was mainly known as the face of BBC Sport’s coverage of MotoGP motorcycle racing in 2010. She currently holds the position of BBC News’s F1 Correspondent and serves as a reporter for both BBC News Channel and BBC World News.

Jennie Gow was born on 20th May 1997 in Southampton, UK. Gow spent her childhood in Dorset, but when she was seven years old, her family relocated to Wargrave, Berkshire. She received her education from The Piggott School and actively participated in local theatre. Additionally, Gow had a passion for sports and achieved great success as a cox for various rowing teams, earning several medals along the way.

Gow’s work experience includes being a skiing chalet maid in France and briefly working as a temp in the filing and records department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. In 1992, she started working for the Henley Standard. After completing her studies in Media and Communication Studies, she joined BBC Sport in 1999 as a production secretary for Sports Personality of the Century.
She then transitioned into a Traffic and Travel presenter position on BBC Radio Solent in 2001 before becoming a journalist on the sports team covering Southampton, Portsmouth, and AFC Bournemouth. Following her departure from the BBC, Gow briefly worked at 107.4 The Quay in Portsmouth before being appointed as the Breakfast Show host at Somerset’s Orchard FM.
During her time there, she was asked to present the speedway events of Somerset Rebels at Highbridge, which led to a TV producer noticing her and offering her the opportunity to present the FIM World Longtrack Championships.
Rise to Fame
This opened up doors for her to present independent productions on Speedway and Motocross, which were broadcasted on various channels such as Channel 4, Sky Sports, Men & Motors, and Motors TV.
In the summer of 2004, she began working as a continuity announcer for ITV and later for Five from 2007 to 2008. Since 2006, she has also been presenting the Jersey Rally. After joining Reading 107 FM in 2006, Gow became a presenter on Sky Sports and eventually went on to present both Sky Sports News and online bulletins.
In March 2010, it was announced that Gow would be taking over as the new presenter of BBC’s MotoGP coverage alongside pit reporter Matt Roberts and commentators Charlie Cox and Steve Parrish after Suzi Perry retired at the end of the 2009 series. However, she was replaced by Roberts as the main presenter for the following season in 2011.
