Jeffrey Thomas Donovan was born on 11th May 1968 in Amesbury, Massachusetts, the U.S. He was raised by his mother Nancy Mathews along with two other brothers because his mother took responsibility to raise all three boys all by herself. Jeff studied at the Bridgewater State College and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in drama from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He completed his Master of Fine Arts from New York University’s Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of Arts.
While doing his graduation he served as a commercial bus driver at UMass Transit Service. He was a lucky boy to have a wonderful mentor at Amesbury High School who helped him start his own drama club and later on helped him with a scholarship so that he could complete his dream of acting. Jeffrey also has over 20 years of experience in martial arts and is a black belt in Shotokan Karate. He has also studied aikido and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

Jeffery started his career with television and did many shows which included some of the top-rated ones like CSI: Miami, Monk, Witchblade, The Pretender, Law and Order, and many more. He was also a part of Crossing Jordan where he played the role of William Ivers. He got his first lead role for the television series Touching Evil in the year 2004. Later he appeared in Burn Notice as Michael Westen. This was the show that led him to a lot of fame due to his outstanding performance as a spy who was burned.
He made his directorial debut with the series Made Man which was aired in the year 2010. Jeffery had a recurring role in Fargo in the year 2015. His fans appreciated his work and loved to watch him on screen. He is a fabulous actor who also performed on stage in various productions which include Hamlet, An inspector Calls, Things You Shouldn’t Say Past Midnight, The Glory of Living, Don’t Dress for Dinner, and many more in which he showcased his tremendous talent and skills on stage.

In the year 2009, he returned to his High School and took part in a career day mentorship program which helped him to earn a $ 100,000 arts scholarship program for his school. He has also been actively serving at the Life Rolls On foundation that empowers people with spinal cord injuries. He has served as the chairman for the 6th annual LRO annual fundraiser. Apart from this, he works for many such charity events to help to raise funds for the needy.
