The Kidnapping Story of Husband
Once on the morning of 13th June 2007, the couple was coming back to their home after sending/dropping off their three kids in their school. Immediately, they reached outside the house, two cars boxed them and men in masks came in front of them, attacking the couple. Although Jayne was left behind, her husband Eduardo Valseca was taken up by the abductors.
The masked men put her husband Eduardo Valseca in their SUV car and drove away. Jayne, on the other hand, called the police and informed them of everything. After five days, Jayne received an email that asked for around $8 million ransom for her husband’s freedom. However, Jayne could not arrange any money that was demanded. Even if she could sell everything including her farm, animals, and other expensive ornaments, she could hardly get the amount of around $20,000.
During that time, Jayne could hardly take care of her and the children, although she was aware that her husband had no chance of release without getting the demanded ransom. She started having a less moderate life including meals like juice, tea, chicken broth, etc. It is said that after the kidnappers struck a deal of having a ransom of less than $1 million, which Jayne gave them after which her husband was released. Eduardo returned home in January 2008 and he could barely smile because of the weakness of his body as he was not given enough food to eat.
Jayne’s death
After Jayne’s husband was released, the family moved to the US where they developed their life and started sharing what they suffered. This affected the borders of both sides- from where they moved and where they started living. Jane revealed that it was the unforgettable story of their life and later, Jane was diagnosed with stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer. After two weeks when Eduardo returned home, Jayne was diagnosed with cancer again which was thought to return after a gap. Eventually, in 2012, Jayne ended her life and took her last breath after surviving the huge battle with breast cancer.
