James Cusati-Moyer Biography

James Cusati-Moyer is a well-established and inspiring actor who is seen in a few of the most-watched roles in the films like Black Adam (2022), Prodigal Son (2019), and False Positive (2021). Personally, Moyer goes for the option of Modo Yoga in the West Village or Williamsburg. He believes in maintaining physical practice and some sense of wellness which he thinks is important if you want to pursue acting.

Moyer believes in self-study. In one of his interviews, he said that his mother was a health queen while growing up. His mother taught him the things to take care of the body, manage weight and be physically fit and full of nutrients. Early Life

James Cusati-Moyer was born on 1st May 1989 and was brought up in Northampton, Pennsylvania, United States of America. In one of his interviews, Moyer said that he went to an arts high school and later moved to New York City. This is why he always wanted to shift to New York City. But because he wanted to skill himself in the acting and related career he enrolled himself in a conservatory arts high school. The school didn’t invite him for the second year back to school and by the time he lost his hope that he would ever be able to pursue his dream of becoming an actor. The biggest blessing of his life was going to a liberal arts college in Manhattan where he was able to study acting.

He also went to Williamstown Theater Festival in summers during college where he established the idea that he should pursue a master’s degree. Moyer always wanted to step up a little bit more. He pursued his graduation and was accepted to Yale. He went to Boston University as an undergraduate. Thereafter, he became close to Jeremy O. Harris whom he describes as one of the people who belongs to one generation after him. By the time Moyer graduated from his college, he remained friends with Jeremy. They came close to each other when they both were in the same school. He used to support Moyer when he was in New York and Moyer used to support Jeremy when he was in New Haven. That time, Jeremy was working on “Slay Play” and he often used to report back that he was working on a role for him (of course Moyer).

James Cusati-Moyer Career

James Cusati-Moyer was nominated for the Tony award for the featured role as Dustin in Jeremy O. Harris’ Slay Play. Moyer originated the role when the play premiered off-Broadway at the New York Theater Workshop and continued the role on Broadway until the pandemic shut down. James has done a few of the featured roles including the broadway in “six degrees of separation” (Directed by Trip Cullman), off-broadway- “slay play” (directed by Robert O’Hara), in the world premiere of “Fire and Air” (made by Terrence McNally and directed by John Doyle), in the “soldier’s tale” featuring Michael Cerveris and directed by Liz Diamond.

Moyer has also worked in “Kiss” at Yale Repertory Theater where he was nominated as the best-featured actor. Despite this, he has also worked for Westport Country Playhouse, Williamstown Theater Festival, and a few other films including False Positive and a few other television roles including Prodigal Son, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,  Blue Bloods and Time after Time, The Path, and Red Oaks. Moyer got himself trained at Yale School of Drama.
