Flip Rodriguez, in full, David F Rodriguez is an American personality and a professional freerunner. He competed in SASUKE 27 and participated in all seasons of American Ninja Warrior beginning from season 4. He is the author of the book The Man Behind The Mask, where he describes his inspirational story and released the book on 1st January 2022. Between 2017 and 2018, Flip changed his first name to “Flip” and no longer uses “David” in his name.

Flip Rodriguez was born on 4th May 1989 and was brought up in Miami, Florida, USA. he is a forerunner, parkour instructor, and stuntman and is often nicknamed Young Flip. Flip’s mother’s name is Brenda Rey Badal, and his father’s is Guillermo Rodriguez. His father often abused his mother, so she married another man, Albert Pena. From the stepfather, Flips’ mother has two sons [Alberto and Chris] and one daughter [Sunshine Pena].

Flip participated in SASUKE 27, one of the parts of Ninja Warrior 3, where he made it up to the qualifying rounds. He became one of the top 10 competitors to qualify for SASUKE 27, where Rodriguez ranked five on the list of qualifiers.

In the semi-finals, Flip faced Johnny Brown and had to deliver again in the semi-finals for the slingshot round, which he failed to complete during American Ninja Warrior 12. On the other side, Brown was unable to pass the slingshot round. He ended the courses and made up to the qualifying and semi-final rounds since American Ninja Warrior 5. He stretched his games and made it up to the national finals for the ninth time, where he tied with Joe Moravsky.
