Darren Barnet is an American actor hailing from the Hollywood city of Los Angeles. He is known for this role of Paxton Hall Yoshida in Netflix’s comedy series Never Have I Ever alongside Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. He recently appeared as a lead in a comedy film American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules.
Early Life
Born as Darren Charles Barnet on April 27, 1991, and was always raised by his single mother. He has an elder sister, Jennifer Barnet, and a younger sister Emily Breidy. Darren was born in Los Angeles and currently resides in the same city due to his acting career. He is of mixed ethnicity, Japanese and American, and can casually speak Japanese, French, English, and parts of Spanish as well. Darren along with his mother relocated to Florida at the age of 12 and then completed his schooling at Dr. Phillips High School. While in school, he was a part of the lacrosse team. Then in 2013, he graduated from Berry College with a degree in Bachelor of Arts where he got a further interest in acting as he played roles in short films and plays.

From a very early age of 5, Darren was interested in acting and wanted to become an actor but due to his shy personality, he dropped the idea. Then again while attending college in Georgia, he got attracted to acting and started to act in plays and short films. In 2013, he completed his education and returned to his hometown of Los Angeles with his dream of becoming an actor. Initially, he worked as a bike attendant and sometimes on the front desk at SoulCycle. Barnet auditioned for roles and first was seen on an episode of This Is Us as Young Jack. He then appeared on several gigs such as on Criminal Minds as Zach Bower and on one of the episodes of S.W.A.T as Corby all in the year 2017.
In 2020 he was cast as on the main roles of Paxton Hall Yoshida in Netflix’s comedy-drama Never Have I Ever. Because of this role, Darren was seen in the limelight. The same year he was also seen on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Freddy. Darren is no stranger to the screen. Even before getting castes as one of the main characters on Never Have I Ever, in 2018 he was seen in American television drama Turnt as Hot Seth, and later in 2019 he was seen playing the role of Flyod in Family reunion. He will also make his debut in the film industry in the upcoming comedy movie American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules where he will be playing the main role of Grant. Apart from his appearance in the industry, Darren is also socially motivated to spread awareness about Breast Cancer as his mother is one of the survivors.
