Collin was born on 6th February 1997 in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of Debbie Morikawa and Blaine Morikawa. The details about his siblings have not been shared with the media yet. He used to enjoy playing golf at a young age.

Collin began his career by playing golf in college from 2015 to 2019. He won five times including Pac-12 Championship. Some other matches in which he played are Western Junior, Trans Mississippi Amateur, Sunnehanna Amateur, and Northeast Amateur. He made his professional debut in 2019 at RBC Canadian Open where he was tied for 14th Place. He further played at the 3M Open and John Deere Classic. At Barracuda Championship he won his first PGA Tour against Troy Merritt.
In 2020 at PGA he played in a tournament named Workday Charity Open against Justin Thomas and the PGA Championship against Paul Casey and Dustin Johnson. He was also seen playing at the Charles Schwab Challenge and lost against Daniel Berger. On 28th February 2021, he won the 2021 WGC Workday Championship at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. He won against Billy Horschel, Viktor Hovland, and Brooks Koepka by three streaks. Along with that, he was also seen playing at the Memorial Tournament of the PGA Tour Playoff and lost against Patrick Cantlay.
