She was involved in the Federal Bar Council, where she is a member of many committees, including the Inn of Courts, the Second Circuit Committee, and the Public Service Committee. Colleen also served as secretary to the First Decade Committee. In 2012, she was offered an internship at the Joint Minority Bar Judicial. After that, she received an internship placement with the Hon. Jack B. Weinstein, Eastern District, New York.

She has been actively involved with the Joint Minority Bar Judicial Internship Programme and the subsequent program – Sotomayor Program. She is the biggest supporter of the organization and its goals of promoting diversity in legal professions.
