Bronny James is an American basketball player, who is also the eldest son of NBA All-Star player LeBron James. Same as his father, he is going to carry the legacy of LeBron in the basketball world and currently progressing towards it as well.

Early Life

LeBron Raymone James Jr. who is nicknamed Bronny James was born on October 6, 2004, in Cleveland, Ohio. Bronny is the son of the NBA All-Star player, LeBron James. He was born to him and his long-time girlfriend, Savannah Brinson, who is now his wife. He has two younger siblings, one brother, and one sister. His brother Bryce was born in 2007 whereas his sister Zhuri was born in 2014. Bronny has a famous basketball player, Chris Paul, as his godfather. Chris is a ten-time NBA All-Star.

Bronny James Career

Bronny can play at the point guard as well as shooting guard positions. Along with that, he is also an adept ball handler and passer. While playing for his Old Trail middle school team in February 2018, he led them to win an Independent School League Tournament title with a 52-35 win over Gilmour Academy. Before being enrolled at Sierra Canyon high school, he competed with various Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball teams. When he played for the Miami City Ballers at the age of nine, he was observed by John Calipato, head coach of Kentucky Wildcats. In the following years, he was a part of various tournaments. He led the Gulf Coast Blue Chips AAU team, in June 2015, to a fourth-grade championship at the League Dallas/ Hype Sports Summer Jam.

He was also responsible for helping the North Coast Blue Chips win a John Lucas All-Star Weekend title in Houston, in March 2018. Furthermore, in April 2018, Blue Chips won the under-13 championship at the NY2LA Swish ‘N Dish tournament in Wisconsin. His team was qualified to play the quarterfinals at the Jr. National Basketball Association in June 2018. Almost a year later, at the age of 14, he joined the AAU team Strive for Greatness at the under 16 Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) in Indianapolis. At Sierra Canyon School, he made his debut by scoring 10 points during the match against Montgomery High School. He was also given the title of Most Valuable Player during his match against St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. Bronny is the only player from his high school who has appeared in all 34 games of the season.

Bronny has been interested in playing sports since he was a child. He used to play basketball and soccer. However, LeBron James Sr. was concerned for his son’s safety and so, he didn’t permit Bronny to play American football or ice hockey. He has been studying at Sierra Canyon School, Chatsworth, Los Angeles, since May 2019. He is currently in his freshman year of high school. His younger brother Bryce and Zaire Wade, son of Dwayne Wade, basketball player, and longtime teammate of LeBron James Sr. are also studying in Sierra Canyon.
