Avantika Vandanapu is an American personality who is an actress by profession as well as a dancer. She has attained her name and fame with Indian films in the Telugu language, and Tamil language, and finally made her debut with American films. She has also performed in a few Indian commercials and back in 2021, she starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie called Spin. When she was living in her teenage years, she participated in the Zee TV Reality show called Dance India Dance L’il Masters (North America Edition), where she appeared second in position.
Early Life
Avantika Vandanapu was born in a Telugu family in San Francisco, California on 24th January 2005. Her parents originally belonged to Hyderabad in Telangana, India and later emigrated to the United States where Avantika read and took drama lessons at the American Conservatory Theater. She originally comes from the background of dance. She traveled to India to film the show called Dance India Dance Lil Masters in Mumbai, which helped her develop her passion for Cinema. After a few years of gaining drama lessons, she made her Telugu debut in films and worked in the first film called Brahmotsavam. After pursuing various commercials and Indian films in the South Indian Industry, she was called by the Disney channel.
Avantika Vandanapu Career
While at the age of 10, Avantika Vandanapu participated in the Dance India Dance L’il Masters Reality show on Zee TV, where she reached second place. After receiving applause and praises from the people in the industry, she entered the Telugu cinema in 2015 and was eventually signed in two movies. She played the role of Chutki in 14 Reels Entertainment’s Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha, the movie which was released back in 2016. However, due to a few conflicts because of scheduling, she could not continue with the movie and officially began her debut in the Telugu films as a child artist in the film called Brahmotsavam.
Later, she signed a contract with the filmmaker of Premam, where she portrayed the role of the younger version of the character Madonna Sebastian. Back in 2021, she played the lead role of the character called Rhea Kumar in the Disney Channel Original Movie Spin. After signing and performing for the movie Brahmotsavam, she signed for another two movies called “Oxygen” and “Premam”. Besides, she also acted in a few short films including “Swecha”- the most-watched film of the year 2016 and has also worked on another film called “Praja Hakku”, which was released back in 2017 and for which she won the Best Actress Award. For the film “Praja Hakku” she got nominated for the award show- Chitrapuri Film festival.

She originally auditioned for the film called Spin when she was around 12 years old but because of certain authenticity reasons, the film was put on hold by the authorities. She did not hear about the movies for around three years and she went back to her routine lifestyle. One day she received a call from Disney, where she re-auditioned and went through the entire process of selections that took another four months before the final booking. Eventually, she got selected and worked for the movie with a lead role in the film called Spin. The same year, she had her Tamil debut with the movie called Boomika- released in 2021, and another film called Senior Year- released in May 2022.
