Ashley Sharpton is an American entrepreneur and social activist. She is known as the Founder & Director of NAN Youth Huddle. She has been involved or inclined more into the worlds of social media and activism. Additionally, she handles her own Sharpton Entertainment LLC. As of February 2023, she has been in the fame news because of her FOX SOUL Show, where she is working as the Co-Host/EP: #TheSharptonSisters that aired on @foxsoul.
Early Life
Ashley Sharpton was born on 8th September 1987 as evidenced by the birthday post made by her father. She belongs to an African American family and has an elder sister, Dominique Sharpton. Her mother is Kathy Jordan, and her father is Al Sharpton although, they separated in 2021. Alfred Charles Sharpton, Sr. is the grandfather while her grandmother’s name was Ada Richards (Died on 22nd March 2012). Her uncle’s name is Kenneth Sharpton Glasgow (Al Sharpton’s brother).
Talking about Ashley’s Education, she graduated from Poly Prep Country Day School in 2005. She has participated in various academic activities and received multiple scholarships. Later, she went on to study sociology at the illustrious Hampton University in 2006. While studying at University, she earned 4 scholarships and other leading HBCUs. From 2012 – 2014, she earned Communication and Media Studies at St. Francis College.

She started her career path during her college days. Before leaving for college in 2006, she founded Sharpton Entertainment LLC (formerly Harl3m Ink), an entertainment company. The company specializes in aspects including production, promotions, and social media services. She served as a Director of Social Media Communications at Massenburg Media from Feb 2013 – Nov 2013. There, she managed and recreated the social media presence for R & B Singer Joe, as well as for Massenburg Media.
Ashley founded an initiative called “The Huddle”, which is responsible for initiating youth, engaging the dreamers, and transforming them into leaders. The initiative was formed in October 2013 and built a strong youth to make them or help them have better futures. Furthermore, Ashley was also helping in enhancing the National Action Network (NAN)’s Youth Move & Youth Huddle’s digital footprint.
This helped her a lot in becoming a national personality, as she became the live social media commentator from the White House for the respective years- 2014, 2015, and 2016 – all during Obama’s time. In 2020, Ashley, a part of NAN’s Youth Huddle has included a focus on increasing voter engagement, census turnout, and curbing gun violence. Also, she provides on-site activism 101 field training, maintaining a healthy mind in addition to a healthy body, and creating a high school to HBCU to Careers Pipeline for young abled minds in urban communities.
