Anna was homeschooled by her mother during her elementary school years and then attended Cab Calloway School of the Arts in Wilmington, where she discovered her passion for performing. She graduated from Texas State University with a BFA in Musical Theatre in 2017.

Anna made her Broadway debut in 2017 as Andrea and an understudy for Ti Moune in Once On This Island, a musical based on a Caribbean folk tale. Her outstanding ensemble performance led to the nomination for a Drama Desk Award. In 2019, she landed the role of Catherine Parr in the North American tour of Six, a musical that originated in London and became a sensation.
She continued to play the role in the Broadway production, which opened in March 2020 but had to close as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. However, the cast recorded an album that received a nomination for the Best Musical Theater Album category at the Grammy Awards.
