Alyssa Popelka is an American personality who is committed to playing softball at the University of Texas at Austin, where she is hoping to remain from 2019 to 2023. For another year, she is signed or committed to Texas Longhorns softball. Alyssa is a young and energetic student majoring in physical culture. Previously, she has played and maintained her softball career with Westwood High School.

Early Life

Alyssa Popelka was born on 8th August 2001 and her hometown is Austin, Texas. Alyssa was nurtured by her loving and caring parents; her father’s name is Drew Popelka and her mother’s name is Jennifer Smith. She shared her childhood along with two other siblings named Haley and Dakota. Since childhood, she has developed herself to be devoted to only softball and because of her hard work and efforts on the field, she has remained a recipient of multi-time Academic All-District 13-6A choice.

Despite this, she is a National Honor Society member and has earned numerous Westwood H.S. 4.0 Academic Awards. Currently, she is pursuing her high education at the University of Texas along with preparing herself for her college career in softball. She is majoring in the subject of Physical Culture & Sports. Previously, she played softball at Westwood High School from where she is supposed to be released in 2019.

High School

Alyssa Popelka was like a “local product” after being released from Westwood High School and came to the senior campaign where she made a hit of around .495 with 33 runs scored, five extra-base hits, 12 RBIs, and 26 stolen bases. As a junior, she batted for .592 overall with 45 hits, 29 runs scored, nine extra-base hits, and 30 stolen bases which all made her earn the titles like TXSWA All-State 6A Third Team, All-District 13-6A First Team, Co-Offensive Player of the Year and many more prestigious honors. While she was living in her freshman season, she was once chosen for TXSWA All-State 6A Honorable Mention, first-team All-District 13-6A, and second-team Austin American-Statesman All-Centex after she made a hit of 26 runs, 27 hits, .342 clip, 28 steals, and a .453 OBP.

Freshman Season (2020 and 2021)

During the freshman season of 2020, she earned playing time for at least 20 games and batted for .500 (2-for-4) with 12 runs scored, six stolen bases, and two RBIs. In the game of 7th March 2020, she walked and scored twice with a win against Texas Southern, where she earned the innings-6 and an overall score of 13-5. On 25th February 2020, she came out of the bench and eventually scored a game-winning run with an overall score of 2-1 and a victory over no. 10 Louisiana.

She had another winning after she earned 1-for-1 with an RBI, 5 innings, and a win over Lipscomb on 21st February. On 6th February, she earned her first collegiate run and RBI while making an overall score of 17-0 and 5 innings with a rout of Maryland. She went single for her lone at-bat and made her team win over North Texas with an overall score of 5-1 on 21st February 2021.
