Alyssa Brito is an infielder softball player playing for the Oklahoma Sooners in college softball. After a brilliant career and track record for her previous colleges, she entered into the transfer portal in 2021 and landed in her dream team. She is ranked No. 32 in the Flo Softball top 100 for high school players and No. 17 in the Extra Inning top 100. Early Life
A native of Tustin, California, Alyssa was born on the 15th of September 2002 and grew up with two siblings. Her father is Brandon Brito while her mother’s identity is unknown. Alyssa batted.519 and hit six home runs during nine games in her senior year, which was cut short by the coronavirus epidemic, earning her a spot on CalHi Sports’ first-team all-state honor roll. She started 53 games at shortstop and hit.299 with 10 home runs, 31 RBIs, five doubles, a triple, 30 runs scored, and 15 walks as a freshman at Oregon. She made just four mistakes in 136 opportunities and went 81 chances without a mistake to start her collegiate career.
After going 4-for-7 with three RBIs, three runs scored, three runs scored, and two home runs in the two victories, she was awarded Pac-12 Freshman of the Week. Following a 6-for-9 performance with two home runs, nine RBIs, and six runs scored in three games, she was named the D1Softball National Freshman of the Week and Pac-12 Freshman of the Week.
Rise to Fame
She played in 61 games as a sophomore at Oklahoma, starting the last 27 of them, hitting.368 with 14 home runs, 7 doubles, and 46 RBIs. She started 50 of those games and made 61 appearances. She went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored in a top-10 game against No. 8 Kentucky on March 22. Against Sam Houston at the Hall of Fame Classic in Oklahoma City, she drove in a season-high four runs, and against Long Beach at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, she tripled and drove in three more runs. She hit her first home run as a Sooner against McNeese in the Houston Classic and made her first start as a Sooner against Loyola Marymount in the Mark Campbell Invitational in Irvine.
