Abbie Cornish is an Australian actress and rapper, who is well known for her role in the movie Bright Star and Somersault. Abbie was born on August 7,1982, in Lochinvar, New South Wales, Australia. She is born to Shelley and Barry Cornish. She is the second of the five children, she has three brothers, Jade, Zack, and Hayden; and one sister, Isabelle. Isabelle is also an actress. Her parents split up when she was 16 years old. Abbie spent her childhood living on a farm, and later on moved to urban Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
Abbie strongly believes in working for the cause of animal welfare. She committed to cruelty-free eating, by following a vegan diet, and in 2006, also became the ambassador for Australia-based animal rights group Voiceless. In 2012, she was a part of a national advertising campaign.
Abbie has been fascinated by independent and foreign films since she was a teenager. Abbie began her career at the young age of thirteen, when she reached the final round of Australian teen magazine Dolly Magazine competition.
