Aaron Estrada is recognized as a basketball player for the Alabama Crimson Tide of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). He is player no. 55, and his position is Point guard/shooting guard.

Aaron Estrada was born on 3rd February 2001, in Woodbury, New Jersey, United States. His loving parents’ names are Briana Melton and Aaron Estrada. He has spent his childhood memories with siblings Amir, Gavin, Gabe, and Amari Estrada. Talking about his educational background, Aaron attended Woodbury Junior-Senior High School.

He received his graduation from St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in New Jersey. He attended Saint Peter’s University (2019-2020) and majored in Graphic Design. Aaron then attended the University of Oregon from 2021-2021. He attended Hofstra University, New York, and majored in Liberal Arts from 2021–2023. He is currently studying at the University of Alabama. 

Career

Aaron Estrada began his career interest in baseball at the age of four. At Woodbury School, he started playing basketball to follow his basketball career. Aaron appeared in a 2018 Prep A State Championship during his junior campaign.

After that, he supported St. Benedict’s school team. As a senior, Aaron helped his teammates. He started and played college basketball for Saint Peter’s and represented Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey. 

  • In season 2019-2020, he played as a freshman in 28 games with 14 games starts. He averaged 8.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, 40% (FG%), and 1.9 assists per game. After the season, he transfer to the Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team. 
  • In season 2020-2021, he played as a sophomore in 9 games for the Oregon Team. He averaged 3.1 points, 42.3% (FG%), and 1.9 rebounds per game in 12.4 minutes per game.
  • In season 2021-2022, he committed to play for the 2021–22 Hofstra Pride men’s basketball team represented Hofstra University. As a junior, he played all 32 games. He averaged 18.5 points, 47.7% (FG%), and 5.7 rebounds per game in 35.2 minutes per game. At Hofstra University, he trained under coach Speedy Claxton. 
  • In season 2022-2023, he played as a redshirt senior in all 31 games for the 2022–23 Hofstra Pride men’s basketball team. He averaged 20.2 points, 47.8% (FG%), 4.3 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game, and 5.5 rebounds per game in 37.2 minutes per game. He also ranks no. one player in this season.

Alabama

While attending class at Hofstra, Aaron Estrada received an unexpected call that would alter his basketball journey. On the other end was none other than Alabama’s head coach, Nate Oats, reaching out to express his interest.

Despite the interruption, Oats conveyed his desire to build a connection and recruit Estrada further. This initial conversation marked the beginning of a potential partnership that would see Estrada transition to the Crimson Tide.

As he shared his experience at SEC media days, the significance of that call resonates, highlighting the pivotal moments that shape a player’s collegiate career. He is now playing for the 2023–24 Alabama Crimson Tide men’s basketball team and represents the University of Alabama. He trained under Coach Nate Oats.

  • He received honors for MAAC (Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) Rookie of the Year in 2020. He honors and received the title of “Third-team All-MAAC” in 2020. 
  • He was named Colonial Athletic Association’s Player of the Year in 2022 and 2023. He earned First-team All-CAA in 2022 and 2023. 
  • He won the Haggerty Award in April 2023. This award states that Aaron Estrada (Senior at Hofstra) is the New York area’s top men’s Division I basketball player for the season 2022-2023.
