Tyra Buss was born on 25th April 1996 in Mt Carmel, Illinois, the USA to her parents Tim Buss and Kelly Buss. She grew up in her hometown and was born in a white Caucasian family. She is believed to be Christian and also to be a single child. Tyra has always been athletic and was active in basketball and track and field since she was a kid. Tyra completed her high school education at Mt Carmel High School where she was part of the school basketball team and later for her college career; she went on to attend Indiana University Bloomington. She graduated with a degree in physical education.

Tyra started her career in high school where she was part of the school team. She played four years for her high school and won several titles like Gatorade player of the year, Ms. Basketball Honor, National high school coaches association girls Basketball player of the year, etc. Later, for college, she joined Indiana University Bloomington where she played in the women’s basketball team. In her four-year college basketball career, she broke several records as well as made many new ones. She also became an all-time leading scorer with more than 2364 points from 2014 to 2018. She won her first-team all-big ten honors in her sophomore year and was also the CoSIDA academic all-district in her final year. In the 2018 season, she led the team to win the WNIT title and was also named as the postseason WNIT’s most valuable player for her performance.
Tyra was also included in an exclusive list of honors the same year. After completing her graduation, she went on to work as a color analyst at the Big ten network. She then moved on to become a coach after completing her college studies and joined in as an assistant coach at the University of Evansville where she coached for one season and also helped the team to record three wins. Tyra has recently joined as an assistant coach at the University of Milwaukee in June 2021 and is currently working under coach Kyle Rechlicz who is very fond of her and wishes to guide her to become one of the most successful young basketball coaches. She was also recently seen on the broadcast television network- BTN network hosting the women’s sports report on Big Women’s basketball tournament which was held in Indianapolis in 2020.
