Framber Valdez is a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros from the Dominican Republic (MLB). Valdez joined the Astros in 2015 as an international free agent. In 2018, he made his MLB debut and constantly improves his games with every passing year. Despite this, he managed to make a name for himself in recent times and he was even a part of the team that won the World Series in 2022.

Framber was born on 19th November 19993 in Palenque, Dominican Republic and his mother is Santa Delfina Pinales de Valdez. The name of his father isn’t disclosed but he owned a construction company in his village, whereas his mother used to run a coffee shop. His parents sacrificed so much in life because they had to raise four children and Framber said that because of his father’s hard work and blessings, he became a pitcher. He began pitching at the age of sixteen. Framber attended a private school in Sabana Grande de Palenque, Dominican Republic, where he completed his primary education. Following that, he completed his high school education at the same institution.

Minor leagues
Valdez signed as an international free agent with the Houston Astros on March 19, 2015, for a $10,000 signing bonus. He was five years older than the majority of amateur free agency signings from his country at the age of 21. After a long day of watching programs run by independent trainers, two Astros scouts recognized him. They offered him a tryout at their Dominican facility near Guayacanes after only watching him throw six pitches.
Valdez debuted professionally with the DSL Astros in 2015. He played for the Greeneville Astros, Tri-City ValleyCats, Quad Cities River Bandits, and Lancaster Jet Hawks during the 2016 season. The Buies Creek Astros and the Corpus Christi Hooks were his teams in 2017. He participated in the Arizona Fall League for the Mesa Solar Sox after the 2017 season. The 2018 minor league season saw him spend his time between Corpus Christi and the Fresno Grizzlies.

Rookie season (2018)
On August 21, 2018, the Astros promoted Valdez to the major leagues for the first time. That day, he made his debut, pitching 4+1/3 innings and winning the game. In 37 innings with Houston in 2018, he was 4–1 with a 2.19 ERA. In 2019, he split his season with the Round Rock Express and the Houston Texans. Over 44+13 innings with Round Rock, he was 5–2 with a 3.25 ERA. In 70+23 innings with Houston, he went 4–7 with a 5.86 ERA. In 11 games (10 starts) in 2020, he was 5–3 with a 3.57 ERA, striking out 76 batters (8th in the AL) and having the second-best home run/9 IP ratio in the league (0.637).
He was awarded Astros Pitcher of the Year by the Houston chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America after leading the team in innings pitched and games won (BBWAA). Valdez became the first relief pitcher in the playoffs to throw five scoreless innings on September 29, 2020. Valdez shattered his left ring finger on March 3, 2021, after he was hit in the hand by a Francisco Lindor ground ball during a spring training game. He was expected to be out for months, if not the entire season, but he returned on May 28. In 2021, he lead the major leagues in ground ball rate.

Framber is living a blissful and flourishing life with his wife Isamal Valdez. The couple tied the knot in 2000 and ever since then lived together with their three kids. There are no details available about Isamal because, despite the stardom of her husband, she likes to stay away from media coverage. Also, she hardly arrives on the field while her love plays the game professionally. Back in July 2022, she was spotted with Framber at All-Star Red Carpet Show in Los Angeles.
