Jesse Eden Metcalfe was born on 9 December 1978 in Carmel Village, California. He is the son of Nancy and Jeff Metcalfe. His father is of English, Irish, French, and Italian descent and his mother is of Italian and Portuguese descent. He is the only child of his parents. Metcalfe was raised in South-eastern Connecticut and he went to the Williams School in New London. He pursued his higher education from New York University where he studied acting and film at the Tisch School of Arts from 1996-1999. In order to pursue acting as a serious career, he dropped out of NYU after he got the role of Miguel in the popular opera ‘Passions’. Jesse is an avid artist and collector and his interest lies in singing and playing guitar and piano. He is also a basketball, boxing, and weight-training enthusiast.
