He was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team as a freshman after averaging 8.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. Edey will play for Canada in the FIBA Under-19 Basketball World Cup in Latvia in 2021. He led his side to the bronze medal and was nominated to the all-tournament team after averaging 15.1 points, 14.1 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game.
