Ty Evans Biography

Ty Evans is a sophomore baseball player for Florida Gators who just turned a beast in the college world series. Evans studies at Lakeland Christian High School where he honed his baseball skills. He is a four-year letter winner for Lakeland Christian High School under head coach Matt Diaz and a three-time Preseason All-American.

Atlanta Braves drafted him in the 20th round but he decided to play at the college level to improve his skills and later join the major league. Evans received the NCSAA 2021 First Team All-American, Lakeland Ledger All-Area, and Max Preps Small School All-American honors.

Early Life

Ty Evans was born on 25th March 2003 in Winter Heaven, Florida, and grew up in Auburndale, Florida. He attended Lakeland Christian High School and he started playing baseball but, prior to his time at Lakeland Christian, Evans had the privilege of receiving training from his father, Will Evans.

This valuable instruction, coupled with the guidance of Lakeland Christian coach Matt Diaz, played a pivotal role in shaping his development as a baseball player. As a result of their collective efforts, Evans flourished and achieved remarkable milestones, including earning recognition as an all-county player, emerging as a highly regarded prospect, being drafted by the Atlanta Braves, and presently pursuing his baseball career as a Florida Gator.

Ty Evans Career

Evans received recognition as a 2021 Max Preps Small School All-American, Lakeland Ledger All-Area, and NCSAA First Team All-American. He had a 1.000 fielding % in 27 games as a senior and hit.468/.602/.779 with three home runs, a triple, 13 doubles, a triple, 41 runs, 34 RBI, and 31 stolen bases. His final hitting line was.343/.456/.526 over 283 at-bats, with five home runs, six triples, 25 doubles, 106 runs, 78 RBI, and 68 steals.

As a freshman in 2022, Evans appeared in 35 games and made 26 starts in right field. He started the final 21 games of the season at right field. He had a line of.242/.301/.465 over 99 at-bats, hitting five home runs, one triple, five doubles, 16 RBI, 13 runs, and three steals.

By hitting his first career hit, a pinch-hit, three-run home run in the eighth inning against Georgia State, Evans helped the offense explode. He had a career-high four runs batted in while going 2-for-4 with a home run against South Carolina and went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI at Mississippi State.

Evans recorded 38 chances with a 1.000 fielding percentage, two outfield assists, five games with multiple hits, four games with multiple RBIs, and 38 chances with a 1.000 fielding percentage. Evans also participated in the Perfect Game National Showcase as a member of the Scorpions Baseball Club. In addition to being named No. 16 overall and No. 3 outfielder in Florida, he was also ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 121 player and No. 21 outfielder nationally.
