Shanola Hampton is a talented and gorgeous American actress best known for portraying the role of Veronica Fisher on Showtime dramedy Shameless. In 2013 she became the recipient of the Grand Jury Prize for Best Actor at the 2013 American Black Film Festival.
Early life
Shanola Hampton was born in Charleston, South Carolina, the United States on May 27, 1977. Her parents are Gralin N. Hampton and Anne Hampton. Her father was a pastor in the local church and Shanola used to sing in a church choir group as a kid. Shanola went to Summerville High School and later graduated from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina with a degree in theatre. She also earned a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and worked at the Goose Island Brewery during the time she was studying.

Shanola Hampton started her career while she was still studying in university, that is she played a part in The Gift, a musical at Tiffany Theatre in Hollywood in 2000. Later after graduating, she appeared in several television shows, such as Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, Reba, Popular, Strong Machine, Scrubs, Related, and Pepper Dennis. She made her film debut in 2002 with Love and Basketball where she played the role of Sarah. In 2005, Shanola was cast for the role of Charlotte in The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green and then subsequently was also seen in The Hanged Man, You Again and They Die by Dawn.
In 2013, she was quite recognized for her role in the drama film Things Never Said as Kalindra Stepney which was also a part of the Annual American Black Film Festival and other notable film festivals. For the same role, Hampton also won Best Actor at the festival. She also starred in comedy-horror Suburban Gothic as Ticona. But before that, in 2011 Shanola appeared on the sets of the family comedy-drama series Shameless where she played the main role of Veronica Fisher. Currently, the drama is still running with more than 12 seasons. Subsequently, Hampton also featured television series such as Christmas in the City and Stalker.
In 2019 it was announced that Shanola will be seen in the upcoming film American Bullet but the film is still in post-production. In 2021, Netflix will release a horror-thriller starring in Deadly Illusions. Hampton will be seen in the upcoming horror-thriller movie, Deadly Illusions, starring Greer Grammer, Dermot Mulroney, and Shanola. It premiered worldwide on March 18, 2021, through Netflix
