Riley Keough is an American actress, model and producer known for her appearances in various independent films. She was born on May 29, 1989 in Santa Monica, California. She is the eldest daughter of singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley and musician Danny Keough. Riley is the eldest grandchild of singer and actor Elvis Presley, and actress and businesswoman Priscilla Presley. Riley had one biological brother, Benjamin Storm Keough, who died by suicide in July, 2020. She has two half-sisters, twins Harper and Finley and was raised primarily by her father in Hawaii and Los Angeles, though she at times lived at her mother’s Los Angeles home, as well as at the Graceland Estate in Memphis, Tennessee. Riley attended a public school in the San Fernando Valley for a short time, but was homeschooled due to her having to frequently travel between her parents’ homes.
Riley started her career in modeling at the age of 15. She appeared in the Autumn/ Winter 2004 ready-to-wear show for Dolce & Gabbana followed by the Christian Dior ready-to-wear show for the Spring/Summer 2005 collection. In August 2004, Riley appeared on the United States cover of Vogue. She also appeared on the cover of the Japanese Elle magazine and Korean Vogue. Riley made her film debut in the musical biopic The Runaways which was based on the 1970s all-girl rock band of the same name. Riley played the role of stripper Nora in Steven Soderbergh’s film Magic Mike, which starred Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer. Her breakthrough role as a law student-turned -escort in the first season of the anthology series The Girlfriend Experience was based on the film of the same name from director Steven Soderbergh. Riley has starred in the independent drama Yellow, alongside Sienna Miller, Luke Wilson and David Morse. She played a supporting role in the independent vampire film Kiss of the Damned, which premiered at the 2012 Venice Film Festival. She also played a supporting role in the fourth installment of the Mad Max series Mad Max: Fury Road. In October 2013, Riley co-starred in Justin Timberlake’s video TKO where she portrayed a bitter girlfriend who knocks out Justin and ties him to the back of a pick-up truck, dragging him through the desert and throwing him off a cliff.
Riley played the female lead on the drama The Good Doctor alongside Orlando Bloom and Taraji P. Henson. She played Diane Nixon, a young patient with a kidney infection who’s kept ill in order to make her doctor gain the respect he craves. In 2012, Riley was nominated for an award at the Milano Film Festival for the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in the movie The Good Doctor. Riley was cast in the Netflix-produced psychological thriller The Devil All The Time which is based on Donald Ray Pollock’s 2011 novel of the same name.
