Early Life
Rege-Jean Page was born on 27 April 1988 in London and was raised in Harare, Zimbabwe. He again moved to London for his secondary schooling. His mother was a nurse who was from Zimbabwe and his father was an English preacher. He had 2 older siblings and 1 younger sibling and he is the second youngest of all. He was also in a band with his younger brother and feels like he has his family in different countries like South Africa, Australia, Sweden, Grenada, and Florida so his perspective doesn’t stop growing and widening. Page thinks that Zimbabwe is the most beautiful place in the world not because he was born there but because it is objectively beautiful too and there is genuine generosity in the Zimbabweans.
After returning to the UK, Page got interested in acting and found out about his new hobby, and decided to grow his career in the same. He stated that he went to a Saturday school where he used to do an hour of singing, acting, and dancing. He was accepted into the Drama Centre London after two years of auditioning, from where he graduated in 2013.

Page began his career and was first seen on stage, where he appeared in “The History Boys” and Shakespeare’s drama “The Merchant of Venice.” In 2015, he starred in the final season of BBC’s three drama series Waterloo Road. Page made his American debut in 2016 by playing the role of Chicken George in the big-budget miniseries Roots, on the History Channel. His debut was the remake of the 1977 miniseries with the same name which was based on Alex Haley’s novel Roots: The Saga of an American Family in 1976. He was also cast as the male lead in the ABC pilot Spark in the same year.
In 2017, he was in the cast of producer Shonda Rhimes’ legal drama series, “For the People” but the series was canceled after the release of two seasons in 2019. Page was also seen in the 2018 post-apocalyptic film “Mortal Engines” and was a supporting cast with “Tessa Thompson” in the 2020 drama film “Sylvie’s Love.” He then played role in Shonda Rhimes’ series Bridgerton.
