Michael was born on 6th April 1955 in Jasper, Alabama, United States of America. When he was 13 years old, his parents were divorced and so he had moved to Chicago with his mother. He has eight brothers and one sister whose name has not been shared with the media. He went to Wells Community Academy High School and was graduated from the same. For his higher studies, he attended DePaul University, over there he was at the Goodman School of Drama.
