Marcus began working for his professional life in 2000 while receiving his college education. He first gained the position of anchor/reporter at KBTX-TV, covering the general news, breaking news, and other assignments while filling in the responsibilities of an anchor. After a year, he started working as an anchor/reporter at KOMU-TV, where he served as a writer as well shooter, and worked on a weekly automotive segment called “KOMU’s Car Guy”. From 2003 to 2005, he worked with WAPT-TV in the same position and was given the responsibility of broadcasting daily and major stories including Hurricane Katrina’s landfall. While being at WAPT-TV he has also anchored weekend newscasts.
Later, he gave 6 years of his life to KMBC-TV while being hired at the position of general assignment reporter/anchor, and covered the general news, live shots for stations, reported on the automotive topics, including NASCAR and Indy Car Racing, and filled in the responsibilities of anchor for weekend morning newscasts.
