Maeve Quinlan is an American actress best known for her role as Megan Conley on the TV show ‘The Bold and Beautiful’. She worked on that show for straight 11 years. Meanwhile, the actress also appeared in many other TV shows and Films. The famous actress is a former Tennis player and had to leave the sport due to an athletic injury.

Early Life

Maeve Quinlanwas born on November 16, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois. She was raised in Northfield, a north shore suburb in a Christian family. Her parents are Irish immigrants. She graduated from New Trier High School in Winnetka and later majored in Business and Theatre at Northwestern University and the University of Southern California.

She started playing tennis at a young age and has been playing in professional tournaments since the age of 16. Her passion and hard work helped her reach the international level. She participated in major tennis tournaments which helped her get a full scholarship to Northwestern University and the University of South California.

Maeve was a Tennis player till she shifted entirely to an acting career. She reached the seed position 95 in the world rankings in Tennis. She participated in tournaments like Virginia Tour and French Open. Unfortunately, Quinlan had to leave tennis because of a major injury and switch to other career options. She started her acting career with small parts in commercials for Gatorade and Nike. Her first TV show debut was in the soap opera ‘The Bold and Beautiful’  which aired from 1955-2006. Meanwhile, she made a guest appearance on the show ‘LA heat’ and ‘JAG’.

Her most notable role was in South of Nowhere. The show was nominated two times in a row for Best Drama at the GLAAD Media Award. In the year 1999, Maeve made her debut in the first film debut in ‘Florentine’ as Claire. After that she played a supporting role in several movies like Play it the Bone, Instict Kill, Totally blonde, Nobody’s perfect, Tennis anyone..?, and many more movies.

In 2014 Maeve played the role of Mariam Glass in the film Liquorice. She also appeared in many TV films like ‘A boyfriend for Christmas’, ‘Teenager Bank Heist’ and ‘The Stalker Club’. She also co-produced a web series ‘3 way’ about roommates featuring lesbian characters. Maeve also runs an online blog to interact with her fans. She is quite active on social media sites like Instagram.

Controversy

In 2002 she played the role of Rhonda in the movie Ken Park. The movie was a controversial film in which there was an explicit scene between her and the boyfriend of her character’s daughter. The scene involved Rhonda getting oral sex. It was a controversial scene and gained a lot of attention.
