Kevin Keatts is an American personality and a basketball coach by profession. He held the designation of head coach for the men’s basketball team at North Carolina State University.

Kevin Keatts Early Life, Family & Childhood

Kevin Keatts was born on 28th July 1972 and he is the only child of his parents. He was raised by his loving and caring parents in Lynchburg, Virginia. His father used to work as a masonry instructor at Amherst County High School and Keatts was the apprentice for his father only on weekends. Kevin Keatts went to Heritage High School, where he played point guard on the basketball team.

He also used to play as a quarterback on the football team. In the presence of Kevin Keatts, the football team was ranked to be the best in the state. He had a loss of only one game in his whole high school football career. Kevin later played basketball for Ferrum College with an average of 13.3 points per game by his senior year.

Coaching Career

Kevin Keatts began his professional career working as an assistant coach at Southwestern Michigan College for the season from 1996 to 1997. For the next two seasons, he went to Hargrave Military Academy as an assistant coach. He was then promoted to head coach in 1999. In 2001, he became the assistant coach at Marshall, assisting the coach, Greg White. He then returned to Hargrave in 2003 and there he served as a head coach until 2011. From 2011 to 2014, he was the assistant coach at Louisville.

On 27th March 2014, he was hired as the head coach of UNC Wilmington (UNCW). In his presence, the head coach was honoured with CAA Conference Coach of the Year. It was because the team became the first conference championship in nine years, and it was the first winning season in the last seven years. On 17th March 2017, Kevin Keatts became the 23rd head coach of North Carolina State University for the Men’s basketball team. He is still holding the designation of head coach at N.C. State.
