Early life
Kenny Gajewski was born on October 23, 1971, in Los Alamitos, California. He attended Los Alamitos high school. After high school, he went to Cerritos College. He has spent a year as a red shirt there. He played under Falcon coach Dave Serrano. For the remaining two years of his collegiate sports career, he transferred to Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma.
Kenny Gajewski Career
Kenny played baseball for one season at Cerritos College then transferred to Cal State Dominguez Hills for the next two years. In 1994 he finally transferred to Oklahoma University and joined the Sooners. The University won the National championship that year. The win helped him bag the post of graduate assistant coach at Oklahoma University in the following season.
He has served as the director of baseball operations at Tennessee for a season. He was in charge of handling day-to-day operations and managing UT’s camp. In 2012 he joined the softball staff of Florida as an assistant coach under head coach Tim Walton. The Gators won the national championship under his tutelage back to back.
Oklahoma State Softball
Kenny worked there for three years before joining the Oklahoma State softball program as the head coach. Since then Oklahoma State softball team has participated in three consecutive Women’s College World Series. In 2022, the team earned its first conference title of the Big 12 era. The amazing performance helped the team establish itself as one of the best teams at the national level.
After his arrival, the Cowgirls have made it to the NCAA postseason every year. Kenny has brought several significant changes to the team. It is considered one of the greatest program transformations.
Kenny organizes a team trip every year to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, which helps the new team players become familiar with each other. The trip has a lot of positive effects on the team’s performance. Kenny motivates his players to focus on their academics too.
The increased number of honors and academic rewards depicts the coach’s efforts. Kenny owns three Athletics turf in Norman, Oklahoma- Champions Athletic Turf, Ameriturf MidSouth, and Sooner Curb and Border. Still, his complete focus is on his softball coaching career.

Kenny is married to Rachel, his second wife. She is also a former softball player who played for Texan A&M University and is currently working as a softball trainer. Kenny has two kids from his previous marriage, Logan and Preston. Kenny is good friends with Greg Bergeron. He is serving as an assistant softball coach at Cal State Northridge. Kenny keeps his personal life private.
