Kaylee DeFer was born on September 23, 1986, in Tuscan, Arizona, the United States to father David DeFer and mother Cynthia DeFer. she is not the only kid in the family and has a brother named Link DeFer. Kaylee attended Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in Tucson. Her first ever role was in musical theatre when she was only 8 years old. In high school, she portrayed the main character of Kim MacAfee in the musical Bye Bye Birdie. While she was a teenager, she left her hometown and shifted to Los Angeles to pursue her lifelong dream of being an actress.

Since then, Kaylee made a number of appearances on North Shore as Emily, in Quintuplets as Stephanie, and on The Mountain as Scarlett the following year. In 2011, Kaylee featured in three films named In My Pocket, Renegade and Red State, and also featured on an episode of Friends with Benefits as Mary Webber. Kaylee also made an appearance through her role as Rebecca White in the television film Layover. She was last seen in the role of Michelle in the film Darkroom.
