Kate Martin is an American personality and a collegiate basketball player. She is committed to playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes of the Big Ten Conference.

Early Life

Kate Martin was born on 5th June 2000, making her 24 years old as of 2024. Kate is the youngest of three children born to her parents. The names of her loving and caring parents are Matthew and Jill Martin. Her father was a collegiate football player who was committed to playing for Western Illinois. Her father was also a coach of football. Kate Martin’s sister is named Kennedy, and she is committed to playing for Truman State.

Kate Martin played football in elementary school and later chose to play basketball and volleyball. Kate used to play high school basketball for Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville, Illinois. During her high school days, she made a record of 122–6, four regional titles, and was a one-time runner-up in the state tournament.

In her senior year, Kate Martin had an average of 5.9 rebounds, 2.88 assists, 16.2 points, and 2.13 steals per game. Eventually, she earned the name of first-team all-state. She has been committed to Iowa as of November 2017. 

Career

Kate Martin began her first season (redshirt) at Iowa in 2018 – 2019 due to an ACL tear. She began her next season, 2019 to 2020, but was still recovering. It was though a limited time for playing. Then, from 2020 to 2021, she became the team captain. She received the nickname “Glue” for her leadership and versatility in the team. Kate also won the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award each year from 2021 to 2023. In her presence, Iowa reached the 2023 NCAA Championship game in the fifth year after she was redshirted. There, she had a record of maintaining 7.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists against South Carolina in the semi-finals.
