Karen Weekly is an American softball coach currently serving as the head coach at the University of Tennessee, where she excels in her position. Early Life

As per the online records, Karen was born in March 1964 and was raised in Edmonds, Washington, in the USA. Chuck Kvale and Ruthann Kvale are Karen Weekly’s parents. Karen loved basketball, although she mostly played softball and tennis. She was a two-sport star at Pacific Lutheran University, competing in both basketball and softball. Nevertheless, she obtained her Juris Doctor in 1990. Weekly attended Pacific Lutheran University, where she played softball from 1985 to 1987.

She worked as an associate attorney at Williams, Kastner & Gibbs in Seattle from 1990 to 1994 prior to becoming a coach. In August 1995, Weekly began working as an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She taught a course called The Legal Environment of Business in this position. She had the chance to further her coaching studies there. Later, she relocated to Tennessee and started working at Grant, Konvalinka & Harrison in Chattanooga. 

Throughout her tenure, Weekly has transformed the Tennessee softball program, breathing new life into it since her arrival prior to the 2002 season. Under her guidance, the team has achieved remarkable success, accumulating 990 victories and securing five top-three national finishes in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, and 2013. The program has also made seven appearances in the prestigious Women’s College World Series, showcasing their caliber in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2015.

Ralph Weekly, the former Tennessee head coach who retired in 2021, is Karen Weekly’s husband. Prior to this, he worked as a special agent for the US Air Force. The two started dating while they were students at Pacific Lutheran University. There, Ralph coached softball, and Karen offered to assist him. They later started dating, and they got hitched in 1994. In addition, the couple served as Lady Vols coaches from 2002 until Ralph’s retirement.
