The first ever tournament where she participated was the World Championships [All Round Junior], 2016 to 2017, where she received a bronze medal in the 500 m skating race, a gold medal in the 1500 m skating race, seventh place in the 1000m and bronze medal in 3000m skating race.
The overall results made her earn a gold medal for the whole team representing the Dutch in the world junior championship. The championship happened in Helsinki, Finland. The following year, in the 2018 Championship at Salt Lake City, United States, she came second, winning the silver medal after Joy Beune.
Then, in the championship – ISU Junior World Cup, 2017 to 2018, she received gold in 1000m and 1500 m skating races. Eventually, she became the Dutch junior spring champion. After becoming a professional in 2018, she joined Team IKO.
For the first time after becoming a professional, she participated in the World Championship and won the 1000m world title twice in 2020 and 2023. She has also received a silver medal in the 2022 Winter Olympics and a gold medal in the World Sprint Championships in 2022.
