Gillian Jacobs was born on 19 October 1982 in Pennsylvania. Her father, William F Jacobs was an investment banker whiles her mother Martina Magenua Jacobs, worked at Carnegie Mellon University. Unfortunately, her father passed away in 2013. She was raised all alone by her mother in the same city, Pennsylvania. Her family possessed the Erie Brewing Company, where her grandfather was the president and CEO. She began pursuing acting from the age of four and even attended weekend acting classes at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while she was still growing up.
She also performed at the theatre where she was playing a role of a perennial contender in the Public’s Shakespeare Monologue Contest, which led her to play the role of Titania in the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. After she graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in 2000, she shifted to New York City to attend the Julliard School. She graduated in 2004, from the same.

Jacob began acting in the television series The Book of Daniel and played the role of Adele Congreve. And since then she made guest appearances on shows like Fringe and Law and Order. In 2006, she was cast in Chris Denham’s Cage Love. She received a lot of praise and appreciation for her performance for her outstanding performance.
