George Gray Biography

George Gray is a famous television personality and an American Actor. He gained popularity as a host of the Game show “The Price is Right”. Despite appearing in so many movies and shows, he is also best known as an Announcer. 

Early Life

George Gray was born on 11th March 1967 in Ballwin, Missouri, which makes him 55 years old. He completed primary education at High School in Tucson, Arizona. Later, he graduated from the University of Arizona in the 1990s batch. Despite being born in Ballwin, he was raised in Tucson. His mother’s name is Mai Gray and he used to address her mother by the name “Mama Mai”. Her mother worked in is known for her role as an actress in films like Stargate (1994), Universal Soldier (1992), and In the Army Now (1994).

George Gray Career

George started working by playing the drums with two of his friends in a local band named The Reason Why. Later, he began working as a stand-up comedian and performed in various events. He rose to prominence when he hosted a show for the Fox Movie Channel called FXM Friday Nights. Later, he got an opportunity from there, so he moved on to co-host the long-running series Movies for Guys Who Like Movies on TBS.

Film and TV series Career

He started her career in the film Industry as an Actor. In 1987, he was seen in Can’t Buy Me Love. Later, he featured in various films and TV Series such as Dead Beat (1994), Cabin Pressure (2000), eCupid (2011), Jack and (Jill 2011), and It’s a Boy! (2012),  Scorpion (2016), and The Bold and the Beautiful (2022).

Hosting Career

George started her career as a host in a 1998 game show named Extreme Gong. After that, he became famous for hosting the first season of the American version of Junkyard Wars. During that time, he was honored and earned a Primetime Emmy nomination. He hosted the syndicated, half-hour version of the American version of The Weakest Link from 2002-2003. Later, he hosted the reality TV Shows Todd TV on FX and National Lampoon’s Greek Games on GSN and co-hosted NBC’s $25 Million Hoax. In 2004, he hosted I’d Do Anything.

In 2006, he was the host of many shows like What’s With That House ? (aka That House) and Man Land and Summer Showdown, all of which were HGTV shows. He appeared in the official video for Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone” in November 2013.

Announcing Career

He started as an intern announcer. On 18th April 2011, he was announced as the fourth permanent announcer on the “The Price Is Right” show. In addition, he became the third longest-tenured announcer in the program’s history. He is currently focusing on the show “The Price Is Right”, which has new episodes on Weekdays on @CBStv and @ParamountPlus.

George Gray is a married man. He married his beautiful fiancée Brittney Renee on 13th April 2019 at The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona. Later, the new couple head to Paris for their honeymoon. In 2016, they started dating officially. In April 2018, George proposed to Brittney during a trip to Thailand. His wife, Brittney Renee, is a high school math teacher.

  • He is a pet lover. In April 2021, he visited with his brother Dorian at The Hermitage Cat Shelter, located in South Tucson, and donated funds for daily medication.
  • In April 2020, George suffered three heart attacks and had his Open Heart Surgery. Later, he recovered and is in stable condition.
  • In a 2017 Halloween episode where the cast portrayed the superhero organization “The Prize League”, George represented The Plinkster, in which he’d toss Plinko chips while making announcements. However, Plinko was not one of the games played in the episode.
