Early Life

Charley Hull was born on 20th March 1996, in Kettering, Northamptonshire, England. Her father introduced her to golf at the age of two, and she began playing with him at Kettering Golf Club. Hull started playing in amateur events at the age of 13 when she quit school to be homeschooled. 

Hull first gained attention at the age of nine, when at Turnberry, she defeated adults in a crucial 18-hole ability measure tournament with a score of 28 Stableford points from 26. In the British Open Pro-Am at age 10, she competed alongside Morgan Pressel.

Charley Hull Career

Hull turned professional on January 1, 2013, and had a remarkable rookie season on the Ladies European Tour. She won her first and only singles title at the Ladies Open Biel Bienne in Switzerland at the age of 17, in just her second career LET singles event. She was able to climb the WTA ranks to the top 100 before turning 18 because of her victory.

At 17, she also made history by competing in the international Solheim Cup competition as the youngest participant. There, she memorably defeated Paula Creamer 5&4 in the singles. In 2013, she was named the Ladies European Tour Player of the Year, Best International Newcomer, and LET Rookie of the Year.

Hull has accomplished triumph on both the Ladies European Tour and the LPGA Tour, winning three more titles on the former and two on the latter, including the prestigious CME Group Tour Championship in 2016.

She has also represented Europe in four Solheim Cups and Great Britain in two Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Hull has a career-high ranking of world No. 4, which she reached on March 14, 20172. As of July 10, 2023, she is ranked No. 8 in singles and No. 15 in doubles.
