Cameron Mathison is a Canada born actor and television host who gained lots of fame for playing the role of Ryan Lavery on the American television soap opera All My Children from 1998 to 2011. He currently is seen on Hallmark Channel as a host, correspondent, and actor.
Early life
Cameron Arthur Mathison was born on August 25, 1969, in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada to father Bill and Loretta Mathison. He has an older brother Scott. When Cameroon was a child, he was diagnosed with Legg-Calvé-Perthes syndrome which left him with leg braces until he was 6 years of age. This resulted in his hips getting severely managed but Cameroon went through it and never left his acting life get affected by the fact.
Mathison went to Thornlea Secondary School in Thornhill, Ontario and after school, he went on to study engineering at the prestigious McGill University in Montreal. In 1993, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
Cameron Mathison Career
After completing his education, Cameron began working as a model and started acting in advertisement commercials in Canada, the U.S., and Europe. He began to take acting classes and soon started to audition for roles in Toronto. He made his debut with film 54, followed by a lead role in the Canadian movie Washed Up. Then he was seen in the American television series All My Children as Ryan Lavery. In the early 2000’s he was even nominated for many awards. Cameron mainly focused on appearing on television, he made featured on F/X: The Series, See Jane Date, and Hope & Faith. Then in 2004, Cameron started his journey as a host on I Wanna Be a Soap Star. This marked his career as a host, soon he was seen doing shows such as Daytime Emmy Awards, Your Place or Mine, and conducting Beauty Pageants.
In 2009, Cameron became a correspondent on ABC’s television program Good Morning America. He also appeared on season five of Dancing with the Stars where he placed 5th with pro-Edyta Śliwińska. After working as a host and correspondent for many years, he finally signed with GMA in January 2009 as a regular correspondent. Despite the fact Cameron was able to successfully establish his career as a host, he did not give up on acting and featured on shows like Castle, Desperate Housewives, and Hot in Cleveland. In 2014, he joined Hallmark/Crown Media family and appeared in more than nine movies such as Murder, She Baked series as Mike Kingston, the American morning talk show Home and Family, and in At Home in Mitford as Tim Kavanaugh. Cameron Mathison will soon be seen hosting The Kitten Bowl for 2021 along with Tamera Mowry-Housley on Hallmark Channel.
