When Curtin became an assistant coach for the first team, Callaghan left Villanova to work full-time with the Union in 2013.

He later became one of Curtin’s initial hires when he was appointed interim head coach and then permanent head coach after John Hackworth was fired. In 2023, Callaghan has been announced as the new head coach of the team following Anthony Hudson’s departure for other coaching opportunities.
