Alex Carpenter Biography

Alex Carpenter is an American personality who is an ice hockey player by profession. Currently, she is serving as the captain of the KRS Vanke Rays in ZhHL (Zhenskaya Hockey League). She was the first player drafted into the National Women’s Hockey League in 2015. She also won the title of ZhHL MVP in 2020. On 2nd January 2022, Carpenter was named to Team USA’s roster where she will be presenting the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing (which will be starting from 4th February 2022 and will be stretched till 20th February 2022).

Early Life

Alex is the daughter of Bobby Carpenter and Julie Carpenter who was born on 13th April 1994 and as of 2022, she is 28 years old. She was brought up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the United States where she spent her whole life along with her family. Alex is not the only one in her family who is linked to ice hockey and national games. Her father Bobby Carpenter (also, Robert E. Carpenter Jr.) was also a professional ice hockey player who is currently serving as the head coach of Kunlun Red Star of KHL. Before this p[osition, he was playing for the NHL that he stretched for at least 18 seasons from 1981 to 1999. When Alex was in middle school, she used to play for a male hockey team in Bethlehem, New York.

One of her teammates included her younger brother named Robert Carpenter. In the fall of the year 2007, Alex became part of “The Governor’s Academy” where she started playing for the varsity team when she was merely 13 years old. She scored for the season and made a total of 155 goals, 136 assists, and 291 points over three years. Alex Carpenter was brought up along with her two other siblings Brendan Carpenter (who is involved in the work of photography and is currently working as a freelancer) and Robert Carpenter (who was the teammate of Alex during childhood in the male hockey team in middle school).

On 22nd July 2010, when Alex was merely 16 years old, she showed her commitment to join the Boston College Eagles women’s ice hockey program in the fall of 2012. She held the record of 100th career points against UConn later on 17th February in her sophomore season. During her junior season with Boston College in 2014-15, Carpenter became the recipient of the Patty Kazmaier Award. In 2015. She made history and became the first player of the Boston College Eagles program to claim the award. Likewise, she was the first player from the side of the Hockey East conference to receive the claim. Carpenter showed her participation for Team USA Under-18 and played for three-exhibition series against Canada’s best in Calgary, Alberta.

Her performance and hard work helped the US team to win the title of the 2009 Czech Challenging Cup. Also, she scored a goal for her USA team and received a gold medal in the games of the 2010 IIHF World Women’s Under 18 Championship but the team ultimately fell to Canada and she or her team had to settle with the silver medal. Alex Carpenter was the first player when she was drafted by the National Women’s Hockey League’s inaugural draft 2015 by the New York Riveters. In August 2016, Alex returned to her senior season with Boston College where she was traded to the Boston Pride. She finished her 2016-17 season while being the second-highest scorer of the league.
