Alessandra Mastronardi is an Italian actress. She started her career at a very young age and used to work in big commercials. She is famously known for her roles in the film “To Rome with Love” and the television series “Master of None”. Alessandra garnered a nomination for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2017.
Early Life
Alessandra was born in Naples, Italy, on February 18, 1986, to father Luigi Mastronardi from Agnone, in the province of Isernia, and mother Rosaria De Luca from Naples. She moved to Rome when she was five and was brought up there. She enjoys swimming, playing tennis, and doing athletics. Alessandra went to Liceo Classico public secondary school. After completing high school she joined The Sapienza University of Rome where she studied performing arts. Also, she had attended a psychology course at the same institution previously.

Mastronardi debuted as an actress in 1997, in the miniseries “Un Prete Tra Noi”. Right after that she got engaged for 2 years in various important T.V. projects like “Amico Mio 2” which came out in 1998 and was directed by Paolo Poeti. She played the part of Rosa Di Girolamo in Claudio Bonivento’s “Il grande Torino” along with Remo Girone and Michele Placido. In 2003, she became a part of the movie “La Bestia Nel Cuore” which was directed by Cristina Comencini. She also played important roles in different films like “Il manoscritto di Van Hecken” (1999) and “The Beast in the Heart” (2003). In addition to that some short subject films like “Cose che si dicono al buio”, by Marco Costa, and Due cigarette, make part of her range of performances.
Mastronardi gained more fame, mainly in Italy, when she became a regular cast member of the 2006 Italian version of the TV series Los Serrano, I Cesaroni, which became one of the most famous Italian TV series in which she played the part of the young shy and romantic girl Eva Cudicini. In 2006, she played the main character in the music video Stai bene come stai, together with Matteo Branciamore, performed by the Italian musical group Le Mani.
The movie Prova a Volare by Lorenzo Cicconi Massi was released on August 24, 2007, in which she portrayed the role of Gloria and acted along with Riccardo Scamarcio. She returned to TV with the second season of “I Cesaroni”, in February 2008 still directed by Francesco Vicario. After that, she became a part of a miniseries by Stefano Sollima, which was a remake of the 2005 movie Romanzo criminale.

In January 2009, the third season of “I Cesaroni” began. Along with that, Alessandra obtained an important role of a young dancer, Stella in TV film “Non smettere di sognare”. In 2017, she portrayed the character of Francesca in Season 2 of Netflix’s Master of None. In 2019, she appeared in the role of Lucrezia Donati in the Netflix show Medici: Masters of Florence. Alessandra is all set to appear on the Netflix movie “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” which is an American action-comedy film directed by Tom Gormican, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Etten. Apart from her, the film features Nicolas Cage and it is set to be released in 2021.
