Adam Schenk is a professional golfer from the United States. Adam attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and won twice as a freshman. In 2015, Schenk participated in the PGA Tour of Latin America for the first time as a professional. Adam finished in the top 10 six times, including a fourth-place result in the Abierto Mexicano de Golf and the Honduras Open. With a best placing of second at the United Leasing & Finance Championship in 2016, Schenk competed on the Web.com Tour.

Early Life

Adam Schenk was born on January 26, 1992, in Vincennes, Indiana, the United States. He graduated from South Knox High School and went on to Purdue University, where he played golf at the college level and won twice as a freshman.

His father’s name is Scott Schenk, who is also a Purdue graduate, his mother’s name is Renee Schenk, and Adam Schenk’s sibling is her sister Karen Schenk. Adam Schenk’s parents run a sod and grain farm where they cultivate three different species of grass (Zoysia, Fescue, and Bluegrass) and sell it to nearby golf courses.

Adam grew up in a family where golf was a popular pastime. Additionally, he watched his father, grandfather, and uncle play golf at the Country Club of Old Vincennes while growing up. Later, his parents built him a suitable-sized sand wedge which he used to frequently practice his games. When he wasn’t playing baseball or basketball, he was practicing his golf swing.

Adam Schenk Career

Schenk became professional in 2015 and competed on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica that year. His best finish was fourth at the Abierto Mexicano de Golf and the Honduras Open, one of his six top-10 finishes. His finest performance on the Web.com Tour in 2016 was a second-place showing at the United Leasing & Finance Championship.

In 2017, he returned to the Web.com Tour, winning the Lincoln Land Charity Championship in a four-man playoff in June. He won his PGA Tour card for 2018 by placing 12th on the regular season money list. Schenk achieved one top-10 result on the PGA Tour in 2018, at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, a team event he shared with Tyler Duncan. He ended 157th in the FedEx Cup standings and has to compete at the Web.com Tour Finals to reclaim his card for 2019.

In the Finals, he finished seventh in the Finals standings after posting three top-10 results in four events, including second place at the Albertsons Boise Open. On the PGA Tour in 2019, he has three top-10 finishes and finished 71st in the FedEx Cup standings to keep his card for 2020.

Schenk held his first career 54-hole lead on the PGA Tour in October 2021 at the Shriners Children’s Open by a single shot. He could only manage a one-under final round, ending in a T3, his best performance on tour to date. Schenk took a one-stroke lead over Speith and Fleetwood in the 2023 Valspar Championship at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbour, Florida.
