Zane Holtz is a Canadian actor and model famous for his role in El ray network series Dusk till Dawn in the role of Richie Gecko. He is currently playing the role of K.O Kelly on two shows Katy Keene and Riverdale.
Early life
Zane was born on 18th Jan 1987 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is currently 34 years old. His mother’s name is Laura May Clarke but his father’s name is unknown. He belongs to a Christian family. In 1999, he moved to California with his mother and three younger brothers named Beau Holtz, Harrison Holtz, and Mackenzie Holtz. Zane is the eldest of his four siblings.
Zane has not shared much about his education and background but he is believed to have completed much of his elementary school education in Vancouver till 1999 and later in California, he completed his high school education. To pursue his career in acting, he joined Lee Strasberg theatre and film institute in Los Angeles. Much about his year of graduation or other qualifications have not been shared.
Zane Holtz Career
Zane started his career as a child model when he was five years old. He worked for five years till his 10th birthday when he appeared in a commercial for the first time. As an adult, his acting career started when he was cast in the procedural series CSI: Crime scene investigation as a guest actor in 2001. The next year he appeared in the role of Jimmy sector in an episode of the series Judging Amy. In 2003, he appeared in the movie Holes. His career went on and he continued appearing on brief roles in various Tv shows and movies over the years like Smoke (2007), Crash (2009), Cold Case (2009), CSI Miami (2010).
Fame
He finally got a permanent role as a side character Austin tucker in the series “Make it or break it” in 2010. The same year he appeared in “Percy Jackson and the lightning thief” and “vampire sucks”. In 2012 he appeared in the role of Chris in “The perk of being a wallflower”. His performance in the movie was well appreciated and he started to get recognized as an actor. The breakthrough in his career came as he was cast in the El Rey Network horror television series “Dusk till dawn” playing the supporting role of Richie Gecko in 2014. His popularity grew and he appeared in several movies and TV shows like 7minutes (2015), Girl in the box (2016), action thriller Hunter Killer (2018), and many more. He also appeared in the music video of Demi Lovato’s song, “Confident”.
More recently in 2020, Zane appeared in the main role of K.O.Kelly in the series Katy and Keene which was a spinoff of the television series, Riverdale. Although the show was short-run and ended after one season, Zane was still the talk of the town due to his appearance in Riverdale as the same character he played in the previous show. He appeared on the climax episode of the series and instantly gained attention from all types of media.
Controversies
Zane has recently been in the light of paparazzi after being rumored to be on a lunch date with his fellow actor and co-star Lucy Hale at The Lotte Palace Hotel in Manhattan. The two were an on-screen couple and shared great chemistry on the show, Katy and Keene.
