Cade Beloso, a lefty slugger who plays first base and designated hitter for LSU, suffered a season-ending knee injury before the 2022 season began and missed almost all of the year. For the 2019 and 2020 seasons, he started at first base for LSU, and in 2021, he was the Tigers’ main designated hitter.

Cade Allen Beloso was born on June 29, 2000, in Metairie, Louisiana. His parents are Rodney and Tiffany Beloso, and he has one older brother, Chase, who played collegiate baseball at UNC Pembroke and Wake Tech Community College. He is studying sports management at LSU at the moment.
He played baseball for four years in high school, earning his first two letters at Richmond Foster High School in Texas before transferring to John Curtis Christian School in Louisiana. There, he was a key contributor as the school’s baseball team won back-to-back Division I Louisiana State Championships.
In the summer of 2018, he played for the Lima (Ohio) Locos of the Great Lakes Collegiate League, where he hit.320 with 12 doubles, 4 home runs, 30 RBI, and 32 runs scored, was designated the No. 4 prospect in the league by Baseball America, and was voted to the GLCL All-Star team.

He started 44 games at first base and 14 as a designated hitter out of a total of 62 games played (58 starts), batting.279 (61-for-219) with three doubles, ten home runs, 52 RBI, and 30 runs scored. Cade hit.375 (3-for-8) with one home run and three RBI with runners in scoring position, and he was chosen to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional All-Tournament team.
He blasted two solo home runs against Ole Miss on May 5 for his second multi-homer game of the year. From April 18-20, he had five hits, including two doubles, a home run, and five RBI against Florida.
In a seven-inning game against California on March 9, his two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning provided the game-winning 5-4 edge. In the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a three-run homer to give LSU a 6-5 victory over Army.
For the season, he made 17 starts at first base for LSU and hit.312 (20-for-64) with four doubles, one triple, one home run, and 12 RBI. Throughout three games against Eastern Kentucky and Louisiana Tech, he batted.618 with one double and eight runs batted in.
In LSU’s win over Kentucky, he drove in four runs with a pair of two-run singles, and he added a sacrifice fly and an RBI single the following day.
He hurt his knee during warmups for LSU’s season opener against Maine on February 18, 2022, and he spent the rest of the year recovering. Beloso got two pinch-hitting opportunities this season, at Grambling on April 5 and in New Orleans on April 26.

- Cade has been named Most Valuable Player, Mr. Baseball, and Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year in Louisiana for 2018.
- He was named the All-Metro Player of the Year by the New Orleans Advocate and the Times-Picayune in 2017 and 2018.
