Clarrisa was born on 31st January 1990 in London, to a British father and an American mother. Her father is Rodny Ward while her mother is Donna Ward. She grew up in both London and New York City.
For her education, she attended boarding schools in England like Godstowe and Wycombe Abbey. After her school years, she completed her studies at Yale University in 2002. Additionally, she received an honorary doctor of letters degree from Middlebury College.

Ward started at Fox News in 2003 and had various roles, including assignment editor and field producer. She covered big stories like Saddam Hussein’s capture and the Indian Ocean tsunami. Later, she worked for ABC News in Moscow from 2007 to 2010, reporting on Russian elections and events in Georgia.
